| A little further afield are the other visitor attractions Northumberland has to offer - the castles of Warkworth, Alnwick and Bamburgh, the ramparts of Berwick upon Tweed, the wild, remote Cheviot Hills and well worth a visit is Hadrian's Wall to the south. |
| There are also plenty of shopping opportunities within easy reach. The market town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away, with Edinburgh (1.5 hours) and Newcastle (less than an hour) a little further.
